Position Overview
The Programs & Events Manager serves as a key member of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce team and is responsible for the successful coordination, administration, and execution of assigned Chamber and Foundation programs, events, committees, and operational initiatives.
 
Working closely with the Foundation & Community Impact Director and collaborating across departments, this position oversees program logistics, participant engagement, event coordination, reporting, committee support, facility scheduling, and administrative processes. The role plays an important part in ensuring assigned programs and events are well-organized, professionally executed, and deliver a positive experience for participants, volunteers, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
 
This is a highly collaborative position that combines project management, event coordination, relationship building, customer service, and administrative excellence. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
 
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $23 to $27/hour, depending on experience, plus Chamber-paid professional development opportunities, paid holidays, PTO, and community engagement opportunities.
 
Status: 40 hours per week; typical hours are M-F from 8 AM to 5 PM
Work Location: Gilbert, AZ (In-office and community-based; remote work is not available for this position.)

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage Foundation programs, workshops, events, and community initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Serve as the primary manager for Gilbert Young Professionals (GYP), The CATALYST programming, Adopt-A-Senior, BRE Roundtables, and Executive Roundtables.
  • Oversee program logistics, calendars, registrations, reporting, communications, vendor coordination, and participant experience.
  • Support committee engagement, volunteer coordination, and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful program outcomes.
  • Maintain program records, performance metrics, dashboards, and administrative systems that support Foundation operations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Foundation & Community Impact Director and assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Collaborate with Chamber staff to support organizational goals, member engagement, sponsorship fulfillment, and community partnerships.

Required Qualifications
  • Three or more years of experience in program management, event management, nonprofit administration, chamber of commerce operations, community engagement, or a related field.
  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and cloud-based business software platforms. 
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to attend occasional early morning, evening, and community events.
Preferred Experience
  • Chambers of commerce, associations, nonprofit organizations, or membership-based organizations.
  • Volunteer engagement or program coordination.
  • Networking, event participation, and community outreach.
  • Familiarity with ChamberMaster, QuickBooks Online, Constant Contact, Canva, or similar business applications.
