Chief Duggan is a 23-year veteran of the Gilbert Fire and Rescue Department and holds over 30 years of public safety experience.  He was recently appointed to the Fire Chief position after serving as an Assistant Fire Chief at the Gilbert Fire and Rescue Department for the past seven years.  During his career with Gilbert Fire and Rescue, he held every position in the fire department, including time as a Public Information Officer and Training Captain.  Before his time with the Gilbert Fire and Rescue Department, Chief Duggan was a member of the Casa Grande and Rincon Valley Fire Departments.  He grew up in Moon Valley, attended Thunderbird High School, and graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology.  Chief Duggan recently received a Master’s in Public Administration from Park University and his Executive Fire Officer credential from the National Fire Academy.  He is also a proud graduate of Gilbert Leadership, Class 25.  Rob and his wife Sally moved into Gilbert in 2002, where they raised their daughter, Maddie, who is working and completing college in Brooklyn, NY.  Chief Duggan is a collaborative communicator focused on building relationships, driving positive change, and facilitating leading-edge innovation in the fire service.  Ensuring people feel safe, valued, and have opportunities to thrive in Gilbert is his primary motivator, along with uncovering people’s passions and empowering them to succeed.
