Program Preview: “In Her Shoes” Experience

Join us for a guided “In Her Shoes” simulation led by the Gilbert Advocacy Center Foundation, offering insight into the real-life challenges faced by those experiencing domestic violence. In recognition of Sexual Assault Awareness and Child Abuse Prevention Month, this interactive breakfast will also highlight ways to support the center, including remarks from Kathy Tilque.

This experience is designed to deepen understanding and strengthen our community’s response with empathy and care. We recognize this is a sensitive topic—counselors and a quieter alternate room will be available, along with a simple service activity and For Our Town Gilbert board members present. Please participate in whatever feels most comfortable for you.

America 250: Log Your Service Hours

Gilbert is participating in the America 250 initiative, inviting our community to collectively log hours of service leading up to our nation’s 250th anniversary.

You can support this effort by:

  • Logging the time you spend at this breakfast (including the service activity)
  • Adding any other recent service that benefits the community

Log your hours here: America 250 – Gilbert Service Tracker

These hours will contribute to both our local Gilbert total and the national America 250 effort.

Thank you to our sponsors and for your support in making this event possible.

We hope you will join us for this meaningful morning of learning, reflection, and service.
