Spiritual Care for those with Mental Illness
Spirituality is a large part of our quality of life and well-being. While the terms “spirituality” and “religion” are often used to mean the same or similar things; they are not the same thing. Religion is usually a set of beliefs and rituals that someone follows, while spirituality is more individualized and helps us find connection to something greater than ourselves. Sometimes people find spirituality within their religion and sometimes people do not. Sometimes other activities bring someone a sense of spirituality, peace, and/or connection. Studies are demonstrating a positive relationship between spirituality and mental health.

Spirituality has been found to be an important component in the recovery of mental illness and its benefits can include increased hope, well-being, self-esteem, social supports, motivation towards growth, as well as decreased depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. We hope you will come explore your spiritual side with us! People of ALL beliefs are welcome!
