What Motivates you professionally?
What motivates me professionally is the intersection of innovation and legacy in the construction industry. We are on the brink of a new era where AI, automation, and digital tools can reshape how we build, while at the same time, the industry is losing vital knowledge as seasoned professionals retire. To succeed, we must close gaps and accelerate improvement across the board—not just preserve traditional methods but actively evolve them. It’s not about “don’t fix what isn’t broken”; it's about recognizing that construction is evolving, and we need to embrace diverse talent, adopt new methods, and become AI-ready. I am driven by helping businesses bridge this gap through technology integration, fostering diversity, and ensuring continuous improvement.
What do you consider to be your greatest success?
My greatest success is the journey of creating change when others said it was impossible. Growing up with fewer privileges, I worked hard to achieve what many doubted I could. In the contractor and corporate worlds, I faced resistance to innovation, often hearing, "It’s been tried" or "You won’t succeed." I learned that “impossible” often means the solution hasn’t been found yet. As a corporate intrapreneur, I thrived on accomplishing the impossible, but corporations weren’t ready for the growth I championed. Now, as an entrepreneur, I align my work with my values—closing the diversity gap and helping businesses fast-forward to their future state. That’s success—creating change and driving progress against the odds.
Who do you look up to or admire?
I admire those with the courage to challenge the status quo and turn adversity into opportunity. People who drive meaningful change by pushing boundaries, even when told it can’t be done, are the ones I look up to. Entrepreneurs and leaders who rise above obstacles to pursue their vision inspire me deeply. I particularly respect individuals who fight for diversity and inclusion in traditionally rigid industries like construction and technology. Those who break through barriers of gender, background, or circumstance to transform entire industries hold my highest regard. I also value mentors and coaches who empower others to grow—just like those who helped me realize my potential during my own entrepreneurial journey.
When you're not working where, in Gilbert, do you spend your time?
I've had the privilege of watching the town transform over the last decade. Both of my children were born here, and I even contributed to the construction of ASU Polytech Jr. High and Gilbert Regional Park, so this town holds a special place in my heart. For a night out, I enjoy a craft cocktail at Buck & Rider or a cold beer at Barnone. I love shopping at Sip and Shop, grabbing sushi at Sushi Brokers, or getting active with rock climbing at Alta or mountain biking in the San Tan Mountains. Gilbert is a perfect blend of great food, shopping, and outdoor adventure, and I love being part of this vibrant community.
