What product or service do you offer? Flute provides payment processing, working capital, and business management tools for small to midsize businesses. Processing includes online sales, in-person payments, invoices, recurring billing, and mobile transactions. Payment methods include credit/debit cards, ACH, digital wallets, and text-to-pay. Accept payments in-store, at the job site or anywhere. Flute’s tools create branded invoices. With recurring billing, send invoices, collect deposits, and automate recurring payments to reduce administrative work. Flute’s Zero Cost Processing offsets fees by passing fees to customers who pay by card. Accept all forms of payments through one platform designed to support how your business sells. What makes your business different, competitive, or unique? Unlike other credit card processors, Flute’s Unified Dashboard combines payments, deposits, and transaction reporting into a single view. The dashboard also includes an Embedded Finance option to request working capital loans and same-day payouts! Receive funds within minutes of the batch, including weekends for eligible merchants, so cash flow matches your billing cycle. Our Business Management tools can be used to create customizable invoicing, recurring billing, and handle chargeback dispute resolution. With our Point-of-Sale (POS) Integration we support in-person, mobile, and online payment methods, including contactless cards, QR codes, and digital wallets and you can continue using your current Point-of-Sale system.
 
What is the nicest thing a customer has ever said about your business? Flute has been a strong, consistent supporter of our association, profession, and the members we serve. How has your business found value in your membership with the Gilbert Chamber? Yes! We have found tremendous value in the many networking opportunities provided by the Gilbert Chamber. We are participating in five events during the month of September. Each event delivers an opportunity to meet with fellow members, learn more about what is happening in the community and how we can support the community in which we work in. Chamber membership is truly a value to all members.

What motivates you professionally? I love to see results. I love when Flute is able to assess and improve the way a merchant is currently processing credit cards. Many times we get stuck in a rut doing the same thing every day and may not even be aware of new technology such as same-day payouts. Merchants often overlook the convenience of having a payment portal on their website that saves a customer a trip while improving cash flow for the merchant. I have been in the business for 11 years and seen an explosion of technology that helps both merchants and their customer have an easier payment experience. Seeing what we deliver keeps me motivated to help others.

What do you consider to be your greatest success? My greatest personal success came in 2009 when I was named Humanitarian of the Year and received Congressional Recognition for my community work with foster children.

Who do you look up to or admire? My father - the other Jim Luff. While I always thought he was hard on me as child, he continues to inspire me to always strive to do better. His work ethic, integrity, thoughtfulness and ambition have been instilled into me.

When you're not working, where in Gilbert do you spend your time? When I am not working, you can usually find me volunteering for a nonprofit event. Whether that means bartending, driving a golf cart shuttle or selling tickets, I'm all about giving back to the community.
