Curiosity Is Good For Business
Business Tip: Curiosity Is Good for Business
The businesses that thrive tomorrow are those that embrace curiosity today. As Gilbert
continues to grow, so does our opportunity to learn from different cultures, welcome new
perspectives, and build relationships that extend far beyond our town limits. Diversity isn't
simply about who we are—it's about how we think, innovate, solve problems, and create
communities where everyone belongs.
That's the mission of Gilbert Sister Cities.
Through international partnerships, youth leadership, and cultural exchange, Gilbert Sister Cities
helps our community see the world through a wider lens while proudly sharing the very best of
Gilbert with others. Today, our relationships span Leshan, China, Antrim and Newtownabbey,
Northern Ireland, and our growing friendship with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian
Community, reminding us that meaningful diplomacy begins with ordinary people who choose
connection over division.
Each year, our Youth Ambassador Program sends Gilbert students abroad to live with host
families, experience new cultures firsthand, and return as more confident, compassionate, and
globally minded leaders. These life-changing exchanges build the next generation of
entrepreneurs, educators, civic leaders, and engaged citizens—young people who understand
that collaboration across cultures is one of the greatest skills they can possess.
This spirit of connection comes to life at our signature annual event.

This family-friendly daytime celebration invites the community to experience the beauty of

For local businesses, A Day at the Garden is an opportunity to demonstrate your organization's
values. Sponsors showcase their commitment to community, inclusion, education, and
international understanding. Volunteers help create memorable experiences for hundreds of
guests. Attendees expand their networks while discovering how citizen diplomacy enriches
Gilbert.
Whether your business values innovation, workforce development, community engagement, or
simply believes that exploring new perspectives makes us all better neighbors and better
leaders, there's a place for you in the garden.
We're currently seeking sponsors, volunteers, community partners, and guests to help us
cultivate friendships that span generations, cultures, and continents.
After all, some of the greatest adventures don't begin with a passport—they begin with a
conversation in your own community.
