Non-Profit Spotlight
For this year's Philanthropic Luncheon, the Women Empowered Committee is excited to shine a light on Midwest Food Bank as our non-profit spotlight.
Midwest Food Bank began operating as a 501c3 charity in 2003 in Bloomington, IL. Today, Midwest Food Bank has 10 U.S. divisions and 2 International divisions focused on rescuing food and supplies and distributing them to 2200+ food pantries. The Arizona Division began operations in 2017 and currently provides ~$58M in free food and supplies to 281 food pantries across the state. This is only possible due to the ~8000 volunteers that serve ~40,000 hours each year.
It is the mission of Midwest Food Bank to help alleviate hunger and malnutrition locally and throughout the world and providing disaster relief; all without discrimination.
