Good Government Series: Arizona Legislative District 14

Join us for an event of the Good Government Series as we host an engaging discussion with our elected officials from Arizona Legislative District 14. This forum offers Chamber members the opportunity to hear directly from state leaders, ask questions, and gain a deeper understanding of the issues affecting our region.

About Senate President Warren Petersen

Arizona State Senate President Warren Petersen has served in the Arizona Legislature since 2012, where he was first elected to the Arizona House of Representatives. He currently represents district 14, which covers Gilbert and parts of Queen Creek. Throughout his career at the Legislature, President Petersen has advocated for limited government, reduced regulations, fiscally conservative initiatives, low taxes, and free market principals. This session is his third year serving as Senate President. His service at the Legislature has also included House Majority Leader, Senate Commerce Committee Chair, Senate Judiciary Committee Chair, Senate Rules Chair, and as a member of the Senate Ethics Committee.

President Petersen is a third-generation Gilbert resident and a graduate of Gilbert High School. He received his bachelor's degree from Arizona State University and a juris doctor degree from ASU Law. He has worked in the real estate industry for more than two decades, primarily in new home construction, and owns a real estate brokerage. When he's not busy at the Legislature or running his business, he's spending time with his family and his beautiful wife Denisse, as well as serving those within his community

BIOGRAPHY

I am an individual that loves God, my country, my family and personal liberty. I was raised by loving parents that instilled in me values and principles of integrity, altruism, honesty, loyalty, hard work, education, to be upstanding and forthright, to love and serve my fellowman, to defend our freedoms, to help the weak and the oppressed, to sustain our constitution and to never be afraid to stand up for what is right. I have always lived by the pledge to be anxiously engaged in doing good things. I have lived in Arizona the majority of my life while living in Gilbert for over 25 years. I was a former employee of the Phoenix Police department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. I served the greater Phoenix area as the President and owner of a multi-million dollar service company for 24 years. I have consulted and engineered service solutions for fortune 500 companies. I was recognized as a finalist by Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year and member of the Who's Who Outstanding Business Executives, served in the BSA organization for over 35 years and was a recipient of the BSA Silver Beaver award. I own and have managed a successful Industrial Real Estate Development company in Gilbert for 20 years. I served on the Planning and Zoning Board for the Town of Gilbert. I served on the Small Business Alliance board lobbying the Town of Gilbert as an advocate for small businesses. I serve as a local precinct committeeman and helped with the 2020 elections. Most importantly, I have been married for over 48 years to my beautiful wife. Together we have three wonderful children and eleven grandchildren. My family is my first priority and my greatest joy.

The Good Government Series is designed to encourage open dialogue between the business community and policymakers, fostering stronger relationships and a deeper understanding of the decision-making process that impacts our local economy.

Don’t miss this chance to connect, engage, and ensure your voice is part of the conversation.
