How has your business found value in your membership with the Gilbert Chamber? * As soon as I decided to go to work for Wallick&Volk, the first thing I did was join the Gilbert Chamber. The chamber is instrumental in bringing like-minded business people together to make a stronger community and business relationship. I am honored to be apart of the Gilbert Chamber and be in the position to help others and make new relationships.
What is your name and title? * Robert L Elder Jr - Mortgage Banker
What motivates you professionally? * Being in the position to be able to help others accomplish their goals and dreams. I have always been in the people/service business since discharging from the Navy. I enjoyed helping with the automotive purchase process for the last 23 years and now transitioned into the Mortgage Industry. Typically the largest two purchases people will make in their lifetime and I am glad to be there to look out for their wants and needs.
What do you consider to be your greatest success? * On a personal level, it would have to be my daughter and professionally the 23 years in the Automotive industry.
Who do you look up to or admire? * I would have to say, my father. He has always taught me to work hard and always be nice to others. He has always been there to support me in the good times and the bad. He always encouraged me to do my best and finish college, however, when I dropped out of college to support my wishes of serving in the military, he continued to support and encourage me along the way. He has always been there and maintained a positive influence no matter what the situation or decision I have made.
When you're not working, where in Gilbert do you spend your time? * Spend a lot of time in downtown Gilbert or the "Heritage District".
