What makes your business different, competitive, or unique?
Humana is a Nation-wide company with a tremendous network of providers available to its members. I work diligently and tirelessly for my members, in the field, 7 days a week. I meet my members where they want to be met. Whether its at their kitchen table, at our Neighborhood Center in Mesa, at Black Riffle Coffee or anywhere where they feel comfortable. I am always there for them.
What is the nicest thing a customer has ever said about your business?
That I am trustworthy. I believe that building a foundation built on trust is the only way to sustain a solid relationship. Getting to know your clients' needs, how they use their healthcare, what they potentially would want in the future and advising them accordingly. This is how to establish a lasting relationship that breeds trust. I am fortunate that I have a long list of clients that trust me enough with their healthcare and their family's healthcare. I get referrals based on this trust that I have built. This means the world to me.
How has your business found value in your membership with the Gilbert Chamber?
Being part of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce allows me to be part of something bigger than just my business. To be part of my community that I love. It provides me the opportunity to grow roots in the community that I will be in for many years to come for myself and my daughters. From the Veteran's In Business Group which allow me to honor my military family to the folks in the community who needs access to additional Medicare resources. The Chamber provides ways for me to be in the community, meeting new people, being a part of something bigger.
What motivates you professionally?
Helping people. It's very simple. I believe that being honest and having integrity in all things breeds sustainability and success. There are no short cuts. Helping people is to always do the right thing. Even when it means helping them into something that doesn't work out for me. When its right, its right. Ultimately I have to feel good that I did the right thing at the end of each day. I need to know that I have done everything I could to help someone get what they need. To me, that is exactly what motivates me.
Who do you look up to or admire?
My Father. He, like is Mother, Father, and Grandfather, all were part of the military and fought in different wars. My father is a Marine who fought in Vietnam. He taught me to have compassion. That everyone has a story, and that story has shaped that person. To never judge based on what we see with our eyes, but to learn based on what we hear. To always be a good listener, never a good talker.
When you're not working, where in Gilbert do you spend your time?
So many good places. My daughters and I love going to Backyard Taco, getting cotton candy burritos at Air Guitar, coffee at Black Riffle, downtown Gilbert at night for dinner. So many fun things to do.
