What makes your business different, competitive, or unique? *
At Cynshine we work hard to meet our clients where they are and take them to where they want to go using Kinesiology (science of movement) muscle testing and range of motion screens to identify imbalances in the body's structural, and emotional energy. We look for ways to improve efficiency and performance while at work or at play by studying the factors that influence your movement. We find most muscular issues can be fixed by Incorporating McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release®, Neurokinetic Therapy®, Active Isolated Stretching®, Reiki, Pilates, Yoga, Dance and of course we refer out medically when necessary. Think of us as Gilbert’s Body Mechanics – Because Flexibility, Strength & Movement Should Feel Good!
What is the nicest thing a customer has ever said about your business? *
A week ago, I hurt my right arm in an exercise class. It hurt so bad, I assumed I had strained the muscle. My doctor diagnosed me with Rhabdomyolysis, which means part of the muscle actually died, which is what caused so much pain. For a week I couldn’t extend my arm past 90 degrees, and it just wasn’t getting better. After my first appointment with Cyndi, I left being able to extend my arm much further, with less pain and I slept through the night for the first time in a week! I came back for my second appointment, and was able to fully extend my arm! Incredible. Cyndi is amazing I am SO grateful to have found her!
How has your business found value in your membership with the Gilbert Chamber? *
I had worked and lived in Guadalajara for 8 years and experienced the power of a community network. I wanted to recreate that when I moved here. So, before my doors opened, I joined the Chamber and a referral group- my “networking” introduction. The community support at my grand opening including Mayor Jen Daniels truly humbled me. My referral group I have come to know personally, their businesses and as a result, I look forward to the opportunity to refer them. It’s nice to see folks out in the community and know them by name. I’m on the Women Empowered Committee and you can’t place a value on the networking opportunities nor the friendships that come with that.
What is your name and title? * Cyndi George Owner Cynshine Yoga Pilates & MOre
What motivates you professionally? * Professionally I absolutely love learning so I am constantly on the lookout for courses, seminars, and certifications in my field. The human body never ceases to amaze me and seeing the progress my clients make, just makes me want to take more continuing education courses. The more I learn the more I can give back. I strive to make Cynshine the place to go where people can attend workshops to learn updates in their field be it Yoga, Pilates, Pilates for Neurological Disorders, Reiki, Scar Release, Dance and more!
What do you consider to be your greatest success? * Opening up my studio as my second act in life and named: Best Pilates Studio in Gilbert 2019 being open only 2 years.
Who do you look up to or admire? *
I am honored to call several international trainers my friends and mentors, I would love to download their brains! Dr. Kathy Dooley from NYC one of the world’s top anatomists and Neurokinetic Therapists, Dr. Perry Nickelston - Stop Chasing Pain, Aaron Mattes founder - Active Isolated Stretching and of course Alastair McLoughlin founder - McLoughlin Scar Tissue Release®. Each one of these mentors took time with me to teach their craft, changing forever my viewpoint of the body and how it works and I am eternally grateful. And I have to say I look up to my 3rd grade teacher Miss Marilyn Hart she instilled in me a love of learning and called me enthusiastic for the first time!
When you're not working, where in Gilbert do you spend your time? * I love going out to restaurants in the area like Postino, La Isabel Amor, and La Rista.
