Originally opened as Gilbert Elementary School in 1913, HD SOUTH is the oldest building still standing in Gilbert and is the only one on the National Register of Historic Places. HD SOUTH is a repository of artifacts chronicling our town’s rich history. HD SOUTH is so much more than one of Gilbert’s favorite family attractions, we’re at the heart of the community. Weddings, birthday parties, graduation parties – they’ve all been held at our location. We are the hub for art, culture, and history in Gilbert. We host community programs where the generations can learn and grow together. We also have traveling exhibits and art exhibits in our Art Gallery throughout the year.

What makes your business different, competitive, or unique?

We are the only museum in Gilbert.

What is the nicest thing a customer has ever said about your business?
     
My granddaughter was able to experience the museum and see the rooms where her mother went to school AND she was able to attend a program where she learned a science experiment. Something for everyone!

How has your business found value in your membership with the Gilbert Chamber?

As a 501(c)3 non-profit we rely on area businesses tremendously to be ambassadors for our mission and vision. Being a member of the Chamber allows us to maintain those relationships and share in business promotion and expansion.

What motivates you professionally?

I am motivated do perform my job duties punctually, frugally, and thoroughly. I am also extremely driven to share information about HD SOUTH to one and all. Seeing our organization continue to succeed is very rewarding.

What do you consider to be your greatest success?

I'm still working on it!
