Alaska Airlines Fallen Soldier Cart will be housed in Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport

SEATTLE— Alaska Airlines employees will hold a hand-off ceremony for a new Fallen Soldier Cart located at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX). This is the tenth cart crafted by Alaska Airlines maintenance employees to honor all fallen military members as they travel to their final resting place.
WHEN: Thursday, May 16 at 10 a.m. PST
WHERE: PHX Special Events Lot, S 29th Street (located just across from the West Cell Phone Lot)
WHO: Alaska Airlines delivers Fallen Soldier Cart – Dan Brosch, Alaska Airlines maintenance employee, will be available for interviews
WHAT: Alaska Airlines maintenance employees, escorted by Phoenix First Responders and Patriot Riders, will deliver a Fallen Soldier Cart to the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Alaska Airlines employees towed the cart 1,500 miles from Seattle to Phoenix. The cart will remain in the care of Alaska Airlines but available for any airline operating at PHX.
In 2011, Alaska Airlines employees developed a structured Fallen Soldier Program to ensure strict military protocols are followed when transporting a fallen soldier. With blue
paint, red carpet and American flag curtains, the customized cart’s exterior features plaques representing the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard. Inside are plaques for the Army National Guard and Air National Guard. On the top of the cart, visible to airline customers, is a large decal that says, “Alaska Airlines Honoring the Fallen” along with a star and emblems for the five-armed services.
