ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

This is a part-time opportunity

Paid as an 1099 Independent Contractor

Most tutoring is conducted in students’ homes in the local area, some sessions are online
-
Most tutoring hours occur between 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm, Monday -Thursday. However, families may request tutoring at other times, including weekends and during the school day

No minimum hours are required

Tutors select their students based upon skillset, location and availability

Tutors are expected to continue with student through completion of their course or until an obvious transition point (like a break or an end of semester)

Experience or expertise in a subject-area that will allow tutor to bring knowledge and wisdom into a student’s home that the student may not otherwise be able to receive

Experience preparing High School students for College Tests : PSAT, SAT and ACT

Experience preparing young adults and adults for GED, ASVAB, TOEFL and other exams

Ability to help high-achieving students prepare for Advanced Placement (AP) Exams (Tutor must have successfully completed these tests)

Familiarity helping students use their online school grade portals (ex. Google Classroom) to manage assignments and study schedules
-
Ability to easily adapt to different learning styles, including those who struggle with motivation, focus and organization (Executive Function)
RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES:
-
Effectively and comprehensively deliver subject matter tutoring
-
Facilitate tutoring sessions for the prescribed subjects at the agreed time and location
-
Review homework as necessary
-
Provide additional practice work and quizzes to ensure a thorough understanding of topic/s covered
-
With parent's permission, communicate with student's teacher, if required, and proactively follow their progress in the subject being tutored
-
Submit a session report to our office and families after each tutoring session within 24 hours of session
-
Assist student with executive, organizational and study skills to improve their time management and project management capabilities

Communicate relevant information regularly to the office
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS and Skills:
-
Some College
-
Experience in tutoring or teaching
-
Great communication skills
-
Pass Level 1 Federal and County Background Check
-
Ability to work in the US, no employer sponsorships permitted
LOCATIONS WE SERVE: Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, Ahwatukee
COMPENSATION:

Based on experience and student need: $18-$30/hr
