Public Policy Speaker Series - Gilbert’s Exciting and Vibrant Heritage District Update
The Public Policy Speakers Series is an exclusive Chamber-member only dialogue with key government officials who will be on-hand to share the latest in their areas of expertise and answer questions from members on important topics impacting our businesses and community.

The guest speakers for this month are Dan Henderson and Amanda Elliott from the Town of Gilbert Office of Economic Development.
About the Speakers:
Dan Henderson, CEcD, is currently the Economic Development Director for Gilbert, Arizona and is responsible for attracting, growing and expanding business and industry. In this executive leadership role with Gilbert he oversees the administration of a $2.8 million dollar departmental budget and a $5 million dollar reserve fund for deal closing. In 2016, the Gilbert Office of Economic Development recertified it?s Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO) status through the International Economic Development Council (IEDC). In Fiscal Year 2018, the Gilbert Office of Economic Development ended the year with a transactional activity exceeding $240,000,000. Dan currently serves as the Chair for the IEDC AEDO advisory committee and also serves as Vice Chair for the International Downtown Association Top Issues Council focused on Smart Cities Technologies. Dan was named by Consultant Connect as one North America?s Top 50 Economic Developers and in 2018, was awarded Economic Developer of the Year by the Arizona Association for Economic Development.
Amanda Elliott, AZED Pro, has served in the Gilbert, Arizona Office of Economic Development since 2012 and leads the redevelopment efforts with a focus on the downtown Heritage District. Amanda has 17 years of experience in the public and private sector focused on real estate development and marketing. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a Certificate of International Business from Arizona State University. Amanda sits on the Arizona Association for Economic Development Board of Directors, is an International Downtown Association (IDA) Emerging Leaders Program fellow, serves as the IDA Top Issues Council Chairperson for Municipal Partnerships, and is an Urban Land Institute Next Program participant. In 2008, Amanda was awarded New Member of the Year by the Arizona Association for Economic Development.
