SUMMARY:Workshop: The Sandwich Generation (CATALYST)
DESCRIPTION:The Sandwich Generation: Are You Running on Empty?\n\n\n\nIf you're building a business or working as a professional while also caring for aging parents and raising kids\, you're part of the "sandwich generation" and burnout is real. Join James Devary of Senior Helpers for an honest look at what caregiving stress is really costing you\, and what support actually exists to help.\n\n\n\n\n\nWe'll cover:\n\n\n\n The real signs of caregiver burnout\, and what it's quietly doing to your health\, relationships\, and business\n\n Why the stress doesn't stay contained\, It ripples into everything and everyone around you\n\n Resources you probably don't know exist: federal programs and local support\n\n Letting go of the guilt: asking for help isn't giving up on your loved one\, it's how you keep showing up for them.\n\n\n\nYou don't have to do it all alone. Come find out what help looks like.\n\n\n\nJames DeVary knows the ripple effects of caregiving firsthand. As an infant\, when his mother's attention turned to caring for his brother through cancer\, James spent his first year and a half being raised by a family in their church community. He went on to serve as a U.S. Army veteran with deployments to both Afghanistan and Iraq\, then spent over a decade after returning home working directly with wounded veterans.\n\n\n\nToday\, James is a husband and father of two young children\, and together with his wife Analaura\, they own and operate Senior Helpers of Gilbert & Chandler\, leading a team of trained\, non-medical caregivers who support local families in their own homes. His lifetime spent around caregiving as a child\, a soldier\, and now a business owner shapes the perspective he brings to conversations about supporting the people who care for others.\n\n\n\n \nThis workshop is made possible\, in part\, by these Foundation Donors:\n\n\n\n\n\nWhen you attend this event\, you enter an area where photography\, audio\, and video recording may occur. By attending\, you consent to such recording media and its release\, publication\, exhibition\, or reproduction\, including but not limited to marketing\, promotional purposes\, publication\, distribution\, and public display\, without further authorization or compensation.
