Together\, we foster a pro-business environment with specific focus on the growth\, expansion\, and retention of businesses in the Town of Gilbert. This includes our efforts to support a strong workforce and talent pipeline for the success and sustainability of our local businesses.\n Gilbert Leadership has been in continuous operation since 1991 and has graduated more than 500 individuals\, many of whom have held or currently hold leadership positions within our community. Gilbert Leadership serves to increases citizen participation in the community by creating awareness of leadership opportunities and developing individual leadership skills which support the goals of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce Foundation.\n Chamber For Good is a national effort to connect local donors to local charities serving local needs. The Gilbert Chamber Foundation has a community-specific website at GilbertGives.com. In addition to this resource\, our philanthropic efforts include the annual Adopt-A-Senior wish list fulfillment\, the Christmas in July food drive benefiting United Food Bank\, and the iRun4Good 5k\, Fun Run\, and social awareness fair (in partnership with For Our City Gilbert).\n\n\n\n\nHow Does A Chinese Auction Work?\n\nA Chinese Auction is a fast-paced quarter auction where attendees can bid on gift baskets and other items for only a quarter. Attendees receive a list of the prizes and a numbered paddle. The auctioneer will start by announcing the first item on the list. If an attendee is interested in bidding on that item\, they toss a quarter into a bucket located in the center of their table and raise their paddle into the air. The auctioneer will begin calling out the numbers being held in the air\; if the number is called\, the paddle must be lowered. A volunteer who will be unable to see or hear the crowd will hit a gong after a few moments. The last number called out before the gong was hit will win that prize.
